What an amazing evening!! The 2009 HRC Austin Gala was held March 28, 2009 at the Downtown Hilton Hotel. This year's theme was Celebrating Austin ~ Inspiring Change.

The program opened with the Capital City Men's Chorus who performed two big hits: "I Know Where I've Been" and "I Am What I Am." The Honorable Woodies Jones was presented the Bettie Naylor Award for his incredible work surrounding gay parent adoptions and Cliff Redd was honored as the HRC Person of the Year for his leadership in the Austin community. We heard from Cuc Vu, HRC's Chief Diversity Officer about where HRC has been and where we go from here. Grammy Award-Winning Artist, Thelma Houston closed out the evening with an electrifying performance that brought the crowd to the front of the stage singing and dancing to Motown hits! Along the way we managed to raise a significant amount of money and a good time was had by all!

2009 Federal Club Pre-Gala Mixer

2009 Federal Club Pre Gala Mixer was hosted by BoConcept, The Kitchen Door and Dripping Springs Vodka.

The air was festive and full of hope and celebration as many of the members of the Federal Club started the gala weekend off with an evening in the 2nd Street District at BoConcept. Our keynote speaker, Cuc Vu, HRC's Chief Diversity Officer joined us for a really enjoyable, relaxing evening visiting and speculating on what "Austin chic" might actually look like on Saturday night!

Austin Federal Club Mixer - November 9th, 2008 at milk+honey spa

The Federal Club was hosted to an evening of pampering and fundraising by a local spa, milk+honey at their Hill Country Galleria location. Federal Club members were treated to complimentary skin analysis, chair
massages and hand treatments while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the spa. The spa also graciously in donated 15% of all gift certificates purchased that night back to HRC. Thanks, Scot Maitland, Federal Club member and milk + honey massage therapist for setting this up for us!

October 2008 - Joe Solmonese Federal Club Update

Joe Salmonese visited the Austin Federal Club donors in October, 2008 to give an update on the current election cycle including Federal and State races as well as pending Federal legislation. The event was hosted by Jody Scheske at his home in West Austin.

Austin Federal Club Mixer - May 8th, 2008

Federal club members and their guests gathered at Santa Rita Cantina for good food, drink and to discuss current and future HRC initiatives and events. A good time was had by all.

Austin Federal Club Mixer Oct 07 - The Great Outdoors

The Austin Federal Club met at the great outdoors for good food, drink and conversation. It was hosted by Federal Club member and owner of The Great Outdoors, Tom Tinguely. Members were also able to go through the "haunted garden."
